What is an Electronic Cigarette?
Electronic Cigarettes are battery-powered devices that provide inhaled dosages of nicotine or non-nicotine vapor. They are an alternative to smoking tobacco products, such as a cigarettes. In addition to nicotine delivery, the vapor also provides a flavor and physical sensation similar to that of tobacco smoke, although there is no tobacco, combustion or smoke present.

So what is Vaping, anyway?
The use of electronic cigarettes is the act known as vaping (short for vaporization). Vaping is an alternative to smoking cigarettes that is less expensive and less offensive to those around you. Because e-cigarettes often do not look like traditional cigarettes, and do not emit smoke, many prefer to call these devices Personal Vaporizers, PVs, or Vaporizers. Instead of being lit, a PV uses a battery to heat a burner (atomizer,cartomizer or clearomizer) to vaporize a solution of propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, flavoring & nicotine. Nicotine strengths generally range from 24mg down to 0mg. Flavors are also optional and range from traditional tobacco & menthol to the non-traditional sweet, savory, or spicy flavors.

Vaporizers have not yet been approved by the FDA as a smoking cessation device. However, the main ingredients, with the exception of nicotine, are on the FDA’s list of substances generally recognized as safe. Propylene glycol is used as a food additive, and can be found is asthma inhalers, air filtration systems in hospitals and in fog machines.

Most electronic cigarettes are reusable with rechargeable lithium ion batteries and replacement or refillable cartridges or cartomizers.

Does it contain tobacco? The name electronic cigarette is quite deceiving since the device actually contains no tobacco and nothing burns. The lack of combustion means reduced carcinogens, no smoke and no tar.

Is it legal to use inside? Yes, they are allowed in many establishments, however business owners’ reserve the right to ask you not to use it on their property, so please be courteous and step outside if asked.  There are states and counties that have some restrictions on vaping in public. 

Can I recycle used batteries, bottles or cartomizers? Yes, we will accept used bottles, dead batteries and used cartomizers at our store. Empty bottles can go in your curbside recyling. Check with your local recycling center regarding proper disposal of batteries and cartomizers if you are not able to bring them to the store.
